Wat Xieng Maen

On our first full day in Laos we got a late start and walked around Luang Prabang to see some of the temples.

Wat Xieng Maen is across the river from town, so we had to to hire a boat driver to take us across.

After looking at the wat we took a little walk around the town.

We were happy to see that Laos is making some environmental efforts

There was another sign explaining how you could reuse a tire to make a swing or planting pot.  It also suggested reusing plastic bags by bringing them with you to the market.

Around dinner time the air is filled with smoke from people’s cook stoves.

We had a nice lunch of baguette sandwiches at a restaurant along the Mekong River.
